I first met Heike in London, 2015. She is a sound artist and musician originally from Berlin, Germany. We started collaborating more frequently in 2019 while she was visiting Poznań, and we completed the Säure Adler LP for Ramble Records (released in 2021), with a little help from our Friends.

Soon, we started talking about an album that would put together all our inspirations and sound directions, but couldn't really complete it as another Säure Adler release, since the ideas were very different from the album released on Ramble.

We were thinking Eno/Cluster, the experimental tracks on David Bowie's "Low", Bill Laswell, no wave, and free jazz. But mostly we did not want to copy these ideas, but treat them like a context for our original sound explorations.

We shared instrumental duties, exchanged instruments, used "studio as instrument" in the spirit of Can, and decided to melt everything in an electronic krautrock sound that was both foreign and familiar.

The resulting album, "Tempelhof Gardens", is a postcard from Berlin, the multicultural capital of the world. We recorded most of the tracks there, in Heike's home studio at Tempelhof-Schöneberg. The overdubbing and further recording took place at Via Kosmische, Poznań, Poland.

The album was co-produced, and shares some similar ideas from my Adam Majdecki-Janicki work, but mostly it is just me and Heike enjoying art, life, and experience in two European cities.

We hope you enjoy this album, so that we can make another one in the near future.
