Back in 2008/2009, in the small press poetry scene, I was also known as "The Bard of Poznań".

Poznań is a city in Poland where I was born, and all the bards are already a song of the ancient past.

I don't remember where the name originated from, but I think every city should have its bard. Or at least had one - in the ancient past.

But this album is not about ancient past at all - it's about the "now" and the future.

What refers to the past, should stay in the past, and there are 4 acoustic tracks on this album that were recorded back in 2016 - they are "Let Tomorrow Come", "Sanctuary", "The Beauty Within", and "Like the Wind I've Come".

The rest of the sessions are very recent though, and they are in fact demos for the proper "Bard of Poznań" album. However, I currently have no budget for professional recording sessions.

So, I just sat at Amaranth House with my guitar, voice, and drum machines, and recorded the rest of this album between 11/20/2021 and 21/1/2022. I also wrote brand new songs, like "Falling Russian Satellites" and "Wall of Sound", and also utilized synthesizers on "Neon Turns to Wood" (dedicated to John Fogerty) and "Naked Dinner" (inspired by William S. Burroughs).

"In the Shade of the Sun" was recorded for the first time with drums, and "Maybellene" should be the alternate name for rock'n'roll - this or Chuck Berry - however, I modified the original track quite significantly. It is not the first cover song I recorded, but the first I have decided to release on my album.
